Angels For Kids at Christmas is the foundation’s biggest contribution to children in need. In addition to the annual Christmas donation, Angels For Kids works with Social service workers from community hospitals to provide children undergoing medical treatment with care packages and or gift baskets to help boost their morale. Angels For Kids also sends cheerful cards and stuffed animals to children on the pediatric floors to let them know that they are not alone and people are supporting them.
*We have given several gift cards out to homeless families to assist them in the items they need such as groceries, clothes, toiletries, etc. I choose to give them gift cards and let them purchase the items they want to give them a sense of independance. I know they would be grateful for groceries and clothes I pick out, but I want them to get the kind of food they like.
*We have showered over 70 homeless kids, or kids that would not have a Christmas with presents.
* We have sponsord a Christmas party for a homeless shelter allowing all of the kids to sing Christmas carols, decorate cookies, make crafts adn eat lots of good food.
* We have purchased around a hundred games for another homeless shelter including chess sets, arts and crafts, board games, cards, etc. to help stimulate the kids in the shelter.
* We took over the Joey and Me salon in Amherst and provided 26 underpriviliged kids with free hair cuts along with food donated from Your Deli. The salon surprised the mothers with free hair cuts as well.
*We co-hosted Local Heroes For Haiti Benefit with Daboondox and raised money to help the children in Haiti that were affected by the earthquake. Senator Joe Schiavoni attended the event along with providing support for Angels For Kids and Local Heroes for Haiti.
* We are currently working on providing a trip to Kalahari for a local family that has recently been faced with some unforeseen circumstances.
Angels For Kids helps local children in many other ways, including:
- Adopting shelters and group homes at Christmas and providing each child with presents
- Sending care packages and gift baskets to children during their hospitalization
- Providing hospitalized children from our community with cheerful cards and stuffed animals during their stay

Providing children with clothing,school supplies, games and toys following a tragedy

About The Foundation Members
Shanyn Flesch is the founder and president of Angels For Kids Foundation. She started the foundation in honor of her late mother, Susan Aigler, a year after losing her in 1997. Shanyn started Angels For Kids by providing children in local group homes with Christmas presents and celebrations. She is the proud mother of two amazing children, Samantha and Brent, and wife to William. Shanyn is dedicated to teaching her children to help others in their time of need.
Jessica Durica is the Secretary of Angels For Kids Foundation. Jessica is the proud mother of two beautiful children wife of Patrick. She is dedicated to ensuring positve values in Peyton and Madelyn’s lives. She is extremely caring, talented and devoted to helping children.
Shannon Schick holds the postion of Treasurer. She is the proud mother to Raegen and Colben and wife to Nate. Shannon is caring and would do anything to help anyone in need, especially a child. She is filled with joy and commitment and is dedicated to helping Angels For Kids Foundation succeed.
